Day to Day Life at Starbucks

So I've been working for starbucks for about 2 weeks now and i absolutly love it! i couldnt have asked for a better job.... my fellow partners, shifts, asm's and sm are amazing people that are always there for me..

I worked at starbucks before but it was a licenced store in a safeway grocery store location. This was when i lived in Edmonton Alberta... i didnt really like the job due to i knew that they were not following the standards for starbucks... i knew this because of friends working at a company location. Anyways there were other things that i didnt enjoy either that included.... no discount on items, no free beverages, no free coffee/tea a week.... and many more things. Anyways i quit thinking that i could work at the actual starbucks location... well i was wrong they gave me an interview and were excited to hire me unil them and me both found out that you have to have been unemployed at a licenced store location for 6 months to be able to work for starbucks comany. I was disappointed but i let it go until 6 months past......
By the time 6 months came i was moving back to British Columbia . So when i came back here in October i decided to apply at the new location in my old town.... i waited and waited ... in between i worked for tim hortons ( which by the way is pure hell and i would never recommend anyone to work for that company), then i worked at a small coffee shop names Java Station which was alright... but very slow 80% of the time i was standing around doing nothing and i found myself really lonely and depressed... then starbucks called me in for an interview and it was the happiest day of my life
So i went in for my interview and it went well i guess because 20 minutes after she called me back and asked me to start on FEB 11

So i guess that brings me to my first couple weeks at starbucks....

The First day was the typical day at any new job really.... just a bunch of reading and alot of paperwork... but i was alright with it for the very first time becuase it was for starbucks! So the new training program Barista Training 100 is a bunch of little modules like 8 or 10 of different area of the store that you would have to perform in your everyday life... I enjoyed reading every last bit of them.. everytime i learned something new i was so excited and couldnt wait for the next... anyways the first day on the espresso bar was absolutly awesome hahaha they said i performed extremly well which i was hap[py about it... the next day that had me doing bar on DRIVE THRU they thought it would be crazy considering i had been only working there for a couple days but they let me do it at the 8 am morning rush well let me tell you that was a rush and I LOVED IT i had no problem at all and everything went so smooth and way to fast i was upset that my shift was already over..... so that was good
Then on Feb 23rd i had my barista certification and apprently i exceeded all  expectations as told by my sm and asm they didnt expect me to learn so quickly and jump right into the job so fast... so as of a couple days ago i a a certified barista which im uberly excited about and find my self everyday excited to go into work which has never never never happened to me before at any job in my life.... so there you have my story about joining starbucks.... and im sure you will see many more about my experience as a starbucks barista because everyday something new and exciting happens..
